YMS LDN 2017 was a roaring success! So thank you to all our delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and speakers for making it the biggest and best Voxburner event yet. It’s taken us a few weeks to rest up and read through all the invaluable feedback, which you can still provide via the form here. So, here we go...our highlights of the jam-packed, inspirational two days.
Ms. Liz Cheesbrough from SCB Partners ensured a topic marketers are, at times, rather afraid of tackling, is now firmly on their to-do. Armed with data from UK 16-24s and the world's largest drug study Global Drug Survey, the dynamic speaker explored emerging drug trends and corresponding lifestyle movements.
Rob was such an engaging YMS17 speaker. Full of character, poise and knowledge, the Tedx graduate discussed The Rise of the Polymath, and how they can overcome the very real issues of education, employment and economy for young people today.
Female Powerhouse Panel
Voxburner are proud to celebrate diversity and equality at YMS. And what better way than an all-female panel filled with genuine female powerhouses. Leader of the Women’s Equality Party Sophie Walker, blogger, author and digital consultant Emma Ganon, Buzzfeed’s Gena-mour Barrett, Sunday Times journalist Rebecca Myers and Jane Cunningham from Pretty Little Head passionately discussed the mindset of a young woman today, who their role models are and what inspires them to be successful.
The showcase area at YMS gave our audience a full 360 experience into the tech of today and tomorrow. As the networking hub of the 2 days, an innovative mix of startups and vendors were on hand for the delegates to indulge. There was even a VR headset via award-winning tech entrepreneur James Marks, showcasing the marketing tech tactic de jour for those who hadn’t experienced it before - they had their minds blown!
The YMS17 audience were treated to oodles of entertainment over the two-day event to ensure delegates were energised, ready and raring for all the content sessions.
Performing arts school Amplified Arts Academy wowed the crowd with an interlude with purpose via their impeccable street dance crew. They danced their hearts out in true style, showcasing their onpoint talent. Do check them out on Twitter if you missed it!
As well as this, Voxburner’s Lara Piras led an audience of 500 through a simple yet effective yoga session, reflective of the sequences she takes the Voxburner team through in the office each morning. Delegates were apprehensive at first, but totally got into ‘lion’s breath’ and ‘tree pose’ once warmed up. Ohmmmmmmm.
The food was not for the fainthearted at YMS17. Of course there were salad options, but for those who came with an appetite, there was traditional pie & mash, wood oven pizza, hot dogs and Vietnamese noodles all thanks to street food aficionados KERB.
“YMS17 was a 10 month vision with 1 goal, to ensure young people of today have a voice. Looking around the room or should I say running about the room it was clear we achieved our vision.”
Richard Jackson, General Manager, Voxburner
“YMS17 made me proud as punch to be part of such an epic event that’s tailored to the niche youth market. Each year the event gets bolder, not just in terms of size but the richness of the content. We’re so excited to be working on YMS17 New York and Berlin and of course YMS18 London already. Watch this space!”
